Waiting List and Deposit/Payment FAQ
Q: Do you have a waiting list?
A: Yes we do. We are happy to add you to the list at any time. As availability of birds is dependant upon productivity of the breeders, there can be times that we have no birds available. We do maintain a waiting list for future adoption. We will contact you when we have eggs, when we have babies handfeeding a deposit is required to put a hold on your choice of bird. What this means is that when the babies are feathering out, and colors are known, you will have first choice over customers below you on the list. Please Contact Us to be added to the Waiting List.
Q: When can we place deposits?
A: We will collect deposits when the babies are pulled for handfeeding. If you decided not to give a deposit at that time, the next person on the waiting list will be given that option. If you do want to place a deposit, the deposit must be received within 3 days in Utah - 5 days outside of Utah or the next person on the list will be given the option to place a hold on the bird/we will list the bird as available. If your deposit is sent after that time and the bird was sold your deposit will be returned to you.

Q: How much of a deposit is required?

*****Deposits are non-refundable unless something unforseen happens to the bird. If you are not sure about wanting the bird, please do not place a deposit on one.**** Full payment is due within 1 week after you are notified the bird is weaned unless arrangements have been made with West Point Aviary. We accept full payment prior to a baby coming home, however refunds are NOT given. Should you decide you do not want the bird, it is at West Point Aviary's discretion to give credits towards another bird. Refunds will not be given at any time. When planning to adopt ANY animal, buyer should always do research on the animal and make sure that the animal is right for you. Please note that prices are subject to change at any time.

Q: What form's of Payment do you accept?
A: We do accept Cash, Check & Credit Cards(we have our own machine, we DO NOT accept Paypal!) We do not accept checks in an amount over $250.00. We accept VISA, MC, DSCV.
Q: When will my baby bird be weaned?
A: We will let you know a general time frame on the particular species when you place a deposit on a baby. We do not force our babies to wean. We allow them to fledge and wean individually. We will notify you as soon as your baby is ready to come home with you. We understand its hard to be paitent when waiting for a new 'baby' to come home so please consider this when placing a deposit. I am adamant about NOT sending them home before they are ready- the babies must be eating & satisfying themselves for 5-6 days BEFORE they go home. I have wavered from this a couple of times and it is NOT in the best interest of the babies, and that is the number one concern for me. So please understand that if the baby is not ready, I will not allow them to leave and it generally doesn't work perfect into when you 'want' them to come home. Weaning is stressful on baby birds and its VERY important that they are NOT forced to wean or leave to soon.
We DO NOT sell unweaned birds! You do not need to handfeed the bird to make a bond- that is a myth. Handfeeding is not as easy as some make it out to be, so many things can go wrong. Formula must be certain temp, consistancy, ect.. or you can cause an infection or burn or the crop to stop. You can aspirate a bird very easily and you can not save a bird once that happens. Switching handfeeders is stressful on the bird. Weaning is a stressful time on the handfeeder and the bird. Starving a bird can not only cause physical damage but it can cause phycological damage as well. They must not ever be food deprived!
