Cockatiels, Lovebirds, English Budgies, Linnies and Green Cheek Conures
Kaytee Forti Diet seed and Zupreem Fruit Blend for cockatiels. Along with fresh fruit and vegetables, Beak appetite, Cheerios, and anything else that is good for them.
We feed:
Zupreem Fruit Blend
Pretty Bird Daily Select
Goldenfeast Nutmeats & Fruit

We do about 3-4 TBSP of Seed on top, we use Kaytee parrot formula but any larger hookbill seed diet is fine. We feed fresh fruit and vegetables, Beak appetite, Cheerios, rice cakes. We share our meals; generally anything that is good for you is good for them. Sprouts: Sprouting seed is an awesome highly nurtrious food choice for all birds! Variety is the key-everything in moderation.
We get our sprouts from Charlene Beane in IA. The sprout mix is very easy and all of it sprouts.
Beane's birds- you can order from Charlene via email, contact us for her info
I have not encountered a bird yet that will not eat sprouts.

Baby Birds:
You can NOT over feed a baby bird(or any bird) babies should have a variety of food available at all times. More than 1 food dish is recommended. Birds eat a little bit all day long. They have very high metabolisms and need to eat constantly. Most baby birds, but espeically the larger parrots, prefer fresh foods- veggies, fruits, toast & sprouts. Share your heathly meals with them.

Water
Clean water is very important for our birds. Ideally two water changes each day, rinsing bowls thoroughly with hot water until any slime build up is removed and refilling with cool clean water. We suggest running the bowls through the dishwasher for a good cleaning once a week in addition to the daily changes. Having extra water bowls on hand makes this an easy task to maintain. We do not use water bottles- you can do a search to find info on teaching your parrot to use water bottles. Never just give them a water bottle and 'assume' they know what to do.
English Budgies
Kaytee Forti Diet for Parakeets. Fresh fruit and vegetables.

Larger Parrots we raise .
We feed our larger parrots a wider variety of pellets for 2 reasons.
1. It gives them a broader choice
2. It gives their new family a larger choice on what to feed because they are use to several kinds of pellets.
Toxic foods
Please note that Caffeine, Avocado and Onion are toxic to your birds and should never be fed to your bird at all. Many household plants and cleaners are also toxic to our birds. We are working on a list for our website, in the meantime please take the time to do a search online for what is not safe for your bird.
