 The Green cheeked conure is a smaller bird approximate lengths is 9 - 10 inches. It is a very quiet bird like all the Pyrrhuras and is often mistaken for the Maroon-bellied conure. There is little difference between the 2 except the coloring. The Green cheek has somewhat greener cheeks and the upper side of their tail is maroon colored.
They are fast becoming a bird keepers favorite, because of their sweet personalities. They are the perfect pet for people living in apartments, they are small, not very messy, they will learn to talk a little and are very lovable. If you own a Green cheek conure, I would recommend you try to train him to drink from a water bottle. They love to take their food and dip it in the water bowl and your water dish will be full of food in no time flat. They seem to just wait for a fresh water bowl and then immediately will put food in it. Green cheeks will take their pellets and try to stuff them in the small spout of the water bottle at times.
One of the all time favorite things for a Green cheek to do is taking a bath. They simply delight in that. As soon as we put larger water bowls in the cages so they can bathe, they will dive in them, usually both birds together and splash around like little children. They want their baths in the aviary even if it is cool and delight in getting themselves and their surroundings soaked.. This is a daily ritual in our aviaries unless it gets too cold and we are worried about them catching a cold.
You can easily train you conure to take a shower with you, just make sure the water is not too hot for them and that they will not be in a draft when they are wet. 
Also be very careful when washing dishes, so your Green Cheek conure does not dive in your hot dishpan.
Green Cheeks in general love to eat fruits and vegetables, or at least play with them and munch on them. they are the only birds in our aviary that always empty their fruit and veggie plates, of course sometimes most of it will be in the water or bathing bowl.
They make very good pets for smaller children, Children tend to be less frightened of a small conure like that, than a bigger bird with a bigger beak.
The Minimum cage you should keep your Green Cheek in is about 18x18x22.
